LOS ANGELES — This verdict was near-unanimous.

The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story was as resounding winner at the Emmys on Sunday night, including Best Limited Series — a surprise to no one after what had recently become the most electrifying and popular television miniseries to grace this golden age of television.

Who here thought a Ryan Murphy-produced miniseries about the Trial of the Century on FX would be this good? Against all expectations, it was — and it was richly rewarded.
