'Game of Thrones' wins Emmy for Drama Series because of course it did

As surely as winter is coming, so too was Game of Thrones Emmy win for Outstanding Drama Series.

It was a big night for the HBO hit, which went into the 68th Annual Emmy Awards with 23 nominations. It was the most for any series, with a one-nomination lead over The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.

The TV adaptation of George R.R. Martin's fantasy books was a heavy favorite to show well at the 2016 Emmys after a sixth season full of surprises. It's the second Outstanding Series win in as many years for Game of Thrones, which hadn't taken the top prize prior to 2015. Read more...
